Citizen-Times: two killed in Arden, suspect arrested

From the Asheville Citizen-Times:

ARDEN — An Arden man was charged with two counts of first-degree murder Monday night after police said he shot his neighbors following a dispute.

Erwin Lynn Jarvis, 59, of Birch Lane, is being held at the Buncombe County jail without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday morning.

The victims were identified as Genise Matheson and Robert Jesse Matheson III, according to arrest warrants.

Police said they responded to several 911 calls around 5:40 p.m. Monday. Officers arrived at the scene and found two people slain in the driveway at 147 Birch Lane, off Sweeten Creek Road, Sgt. Dave Romick said.
