City of Hendersonville lifts voluntary water restrictions as drought conditions improve

From the City of Hendersonville:

Hendersonville Water and Sewer
May 1, 2017

The U.S. Drought Monitor for North Carolina upgraded drought conditions for Henderson County from Moderate Drought to Abnormally Dry, after receiving much needed rainfall over the past month. Due to this fact, the City is hereby lifting all voluntary water restrictions that have remained in effect since October 17, 2016.

We are pleased to lift these restrictions, but want to continue to encourage conservation efforts with our customers. Conserving water is the right thing to do at all times and since water is a precious natural resource we are asking everyone to respect this resource,” says Lee Smith, Director of Water and Sewer.

If you are interested in learning about ways to conserve water around your home or business, please visit our website at www.hendersonvillenc.gov and click on Water and Sewer under Departments and then click on the Water Conservation tab and look for our “Top 10 Things You Can Do At Home To Conserve Water.”

We would also like to thank our customers for their efforts to conserve water and for the sacrifices made by many over the past several months for the good of the people of Hendersonville and Henderson County.
