City of Asheville accepting applications for July 4 fundraising

From the city of Asheville:

Asheville, NC – The City of Asheville invites local nonprofit organizations to apply for a fundraising opportunity at the Independence Day Celebration in downtown Asheville on Thursday, July 4, 2013. Deadline to apply is Friday, May 24.

A single nonprofit organization will be selected to staff two beverage and wristband sales locations at the event in exchange for a percentage of sales. The nonprofit partner in 2012 earned $1,400 for its participation. The Independence Day Celebration features free children’s activities, a patriotic presentation, food vendors, local bands and a grand finale fireworks display.

The deadline to apply for this fundraising opportunity is May 24, 2013. To apply, contact swood@ashevillenc.gov for an application.
