Comedian Shane Mauss performs at The Millroom, Jan. 16

On Friday, January 16th, Comedian Shane Mauss, hot off his the release of his new Netflix special ‘Mating Season,’ is set to perform in downtown Asheville at The Millroom for one show at 7:00pm.

Having just released his first hour special ‘Mating Season’ on Netflix, Shane Mauss is back out on the road with a new hour which is proving to be his best work yet. Originally from La Crosse, WI, Shane Mauss moved to Boston in 2004 (at the supple, tender age of 23) to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a standup comedian. In less than three years, Shane caught his break when he was awarded Best Standup Comic at HBO’s US Comedy Arts Festival in 2007.

Since then, he’s made five appearances on Conan, had a Comedy Central Presents which was accompanied by his first CD ‘Jokes To Make My Parents Proud’ with Comedy Central Records, which was named one of the Top 10 Albums of 2010 by Punchline Magazine. Shane has also had appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Comedy Central’s ‘Live at Gotham’, Showtime’s ‘Comics Without Borders’, and on what is easily his strangest television appearance to date: Playboy TV’s ‘Night Calls’.

He’s even done TV spots internationally including Just For Laughs “Funny As Hell” on HBO Canada, two appearances on BBC’s ‘The World Stands Up’, and Just For Laughs Australia at The Sydney Opera House. Shane has been in several comedy festivals around the world including The Just For Laughs Festival Comedy Festival in Montreal, Sydney & Chicago, The Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, OR, The Comedy Central South Beach Comedy Festival, The Cat Laughs Comedy Festival in Kilkenny, Ireland, The Sydney Comedy Festival, and The Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival.

He is a regular on The Bob and Tom Show, Sirius Radio, Pandora, Spotify and you may also know him from podcasts such as WTF, You Made It Weird, Doug Loves Movies, Getting Doug With High, Keith and The Girl, and TOFOP.

Opening for Shane is Caleb Synan out of Atlanta, GA. Caleb Synan’s act is a rare blend of Southern charm and razor sharp wit. As a homeschooled preacher’s kid who lives in Atlanta, his unique and hilarious perspective of the South, his parents, and the world at large is both smart and relatable. Caleb has worked with the likes of Donnell Rawlings, Brian Posehn, Joe Rogen, and Todd Glass.
