Community Foundation of Henderson County seeking General Grants applicants

The Community Foundation of Henderson County is calling for applicants for its Fall 2015 General Grants cycle ahead of the September 1 deadline for submission, according to a press release from the organization.

Grant funding is open to any applicable nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organizations or IRS-equivalent or accepted fiscal agents wanting to be considered for the next cycle. Qualifying organizations must operate programs within Henderson County which “strengthen health and human services, preserve our area’s natural environment, construct buildings, and make nonprofits more self-sustaining,” according to information on The Community Foundation’s website.

Grants are awarded to nonprofits and similar organizations with a goal of improving the quality of life in the Henderson County community and are applicable to organizations working in the areas of arts and culture, civic affairs, conservation, education, health and human services, among others.

General grants are awarded four times throughout the year and are competitively chosen based on an applicants ability to demonstrate collaboration, affect a broad segment of the population, relevancy to the community’s needs and enhance existing services, among others. The Community Foundation usually gives favorable consideration to pilot programs that can be used as a model for others and have prospects for future support, according to the organization’s guidelines for applicants.

The deadline for submitting a proposal for the Fall general grants cycle is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1. Rules for applying for a grant can be found on the Community Foundation of Henderson County’s website or by emailing Senior Program Officer Lee Henderson-Hill at lhenderson-hill@CFHCforever.org.

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C., AUG. 17, 2015: Nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organizations or IRS-equivalent or accepted fiscal agents wanting to be considered for Community Foundation of Henderson County’s next competitive General Grant cycle are invited to submit applications for those grants to the Community Foundation by 5 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1.
