Conquer a Cove 5K set for April 21

Asheville/Candler—One of the areas most popular runs, Conquer A Cove 5K, celebrates its 13th annual event Sunday, April 21 at Mount Pisgah Academy on Holcombe Cove Road in Candler. The 5K run will begin at 2 p.m. Registration fee is $20.00 through April 12 and $25.00 after April 12. Day-of-event fee is $30. Children ages 8-14 may participate in a 1 Mile Fitness Run ($10 fee) at 1 p.m. and children 7 and under enjoy a free Kids’ Run at 1:30 p.m.

Tables set up by sponsors and community health advocates provide give-a-ways, food, screenings, health and fitness guides, demonstrations, and handouts. Kids’ fun includes an inflatable house and activity table. Runners and walkers wear a bib in honor or memory of any one affected by cancer. A designated area will be available for other guests to do the same.

Themed Raffle Baskets are an anticipated part of this event. Purchase raffle tickets for $1 each for a chance to win a pink security box or spring, beauty, spa, or car wash focused baskets. Proceeds benefit The Hope Chest for Women. To purchase raffle tickets, call (828) 418-1344.
