Contest celebrates the Week of the Young Child

Press release from Smart Start Partnership for Children:

Smart Start Partnership for Children in collaboration with Children Family Resource Center and WTZQ is excited to announce a Family Fun Pack Contest in celebration of the Week of the Young Child and Child Abuse Prevention Month. For the week of April 10th through April 16th visit the Smart Start website to enter at www.smartstartpfc.org. Answer five questions about early childhood and local community resources and you could be the winner of a signed edition Dolly Parton book, Coat of Many Colors. Other prizes include a month-long family membership to the YMCA of WNC, Putt Putt passes to Lakeview Putt and Play, personalized reading totes made by a local artist, and a Family Photography Session by Paula Roberts Photography.

The Week of the Young Child™ is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). This year the week-long celebration is from April 10-16. The Children & Family Resource Center along with NAEYC recognizes the importance of educating young children and honoring those who teach them.

In years past, Children& Family Resource Center has held a conference to commemorate this occasion. Unfortunately, COVID restrictions have put a damper on in person professional development. This year they are offering 3 different training opportunities via ZOOM to allow for social distancing while you celebrate! You can view and register for these on the Children and Family Resource Center website at www.childrenandfamily.org
