Dancing with the Asheville Stars to benefit Helpmate

Press release from Helpmate:

Professional dancers and their students from the Asheville Ballroom & Dance Centre will be showcasing their talents this Saturday at the Diana Wortham Theatre.  Dancing with the Asheville Stars is a benefit for Helpmate, Buncombe County’s domestic violence agency.  The event will feature a variety of dancing styles from Ballroom, Contemporary, Latin, Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop, Salsa, Tango and more.

“We are honored to be included in this outstanding event,” says Helpmate Executive Director April Burgess-Johnson.  “This is Helpmate’s 40th year of providing safety, shelter, and support for area survivors of abuse.  We’ve been able to continue all these years because our community supports and values the work we do to make everyone safer. We are grateful for that support.”

The show starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are available at the Diana Wortham Theatre, www.dwtheatre.com, or at the door.  For more information about Helpmate, visit www.HelpmateOnline.org.
