Democratic gubernatorial candidate Etheridge stumps in Asheville

Here’s an excerpt from the Asheville Citizen-Times article:

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bob Etheridge said Saturday that Democrats must work together to place education at the top of the state’s priorities.

“That’s the foundation,” Etheridge said. “We didn’t get where we are by looking backwards.”

Etheridge spoke to a group of about 75 people gathered at Buncombe County Democratic Party headquarters on Old Fairview Road. After party faithful dined on spaghetti, meatballs and banana pudding, Etheridge talked about the importance of education, implicitly criticizing Republican state lawmakers for cutting funding to education.
