Dining Out For Life postponed until later in 2020

Press release from Western North Carolina AIDS Project:

We are so grateful for all of the ways that our local restaurants have supported WNCAP over the years, especially through our Dining Out For Life event, which has been held on the last Thursday of April since 2002.

When news coverage of the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S. began to escalate, we said that the health and safety of our community would be at the heart of any decisions surrounding this event. COVID-19 is of particular concern to WNCAP because so many of the people we serve are at higher risk.

This week, Governor Cooper mandated the closure of all bars and restaurants except for take-out and delivery. And the CDC now recommends that individuals and organizations cancel events featuring 10 or more people.

Therefore, our Board of Directors has decided to postpone the Dining Out For Life event until later in the 2020 calendar year.

At this point, with so much change happening so quickly, it is impossible to know what the future will hold. Nevertheless, we remain hopeful that after the dust has settled, our community will emerge stronger than ever before. When that time comes, Dining Out For Life will be more important than ever before; a chance to dine out together in local restaurants for a good cause.

WNCAP is committed to doing everything we can to help our local partners during this challenging time. We encourage everyone in Western North Carolina to support their local restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops any way they can, including:
-Purchasing gift cards
-Ordering take-out and delivery
-Tipping generously
-Purchasing grocery store products that are made by local breweries, coffee shops, creameries, etc.
-Supporting your favorite local restaurants on social media and Yelp
-Thank you to all of our restaurants, Ambassadors, and sponsors who are standing with us during this challenging time. Stay safe and eat well!
