Emmy winning storyteller and author at Buffalo Nickel, Nov. 30

David Joe Miller Presents a very SPECIAL storytelling show and book signing featuring two, internationally acclaimed storytellers and authors.

Regi Carpenter from New York and Emmy Winner, Jim May from Illinois will appear at Buffalo Nickel, 747 Haywood Road, on Wednesday November 30th at 7pm. They’ll be telling stories from their newly released books then signing and selling books as well.

Jim’s book, Trail Guide for the Crooked Heart has already won critical acclaim. The Chicago Sun Times call’s Jim May “A modern day Homer” Dr. Joseph Sobol, head of the masters degree program in storytelling at East Tennessee State University says the book is “A rich blend of traditional story, memoir and modern madras. It captures the social and personal wisdom quest at the heart of contemporary storytelling.” A professional storyteller for over thirty years, May is in Asheville for this limited engagement before he starts his official book tour in 2017.

Regi’s book, Where There’s Smoke, There’s Dinner, stories from a seared childhood. “A collection of family stories that could have been collected by any one of us, just add a lot of flavor! A professional storyteller and touring artist, Regi has just returned from a tour of China, telling stories in schools and libraries.

Both Regi Carpenter and Jim May are veterans of the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN. and have appeared at the International Storytelling Center many times. It’s a rare treat to have them both appear on the same stage here in Asheville.
