Kenmure residents fight COVID with masks and vaccination clinic support.
In March 2020, with local hospitals short of necessary supplies, Flat Rock’s Kenmure community answered the need for non-medical staff and visitor masks: the Kenmure “Maskateers” group was born. This group of 35+ neighbors donated supplies, washed/cut/ironed/sewed, then packaged and delivered over 1,800 masks between April and December of 2020.
Then, from February through early May of 2021, over 50 Kenmure volunteers assisted at Pardee’s BRCC vaccination clinic. Along with other volunteers, Kenmure resident escorted, sanitized and managed logistics, and retired doctors and nurses within the Kenmure community made special use of their skills by administering vaccinations. Kenmure Country Club donated golf carts for use in transporting those in need of a ride between the clinic and their car.
