‘Forms, Figures, and Function’ exhibition of work by The Village Potters’ apprentices

Press release:

‘Forms, Figures, and Function’ is an exhibit featuring the work of The Village Potters’ Apprentices. The show opened in early May, and will run through August 12. The four Apprentices showing work are Cynthu Muthasamy, Jenay Martin, Hannah McGehee, and Tori Motyl.

You are invited to meet Tori Motyl as she answers questions and discusses her work as a functional potter. Learn how she combines elegant, minimalist forms with slip surfaces to create functional pottery with a sense of calm and a distinct design voice. Food and beverages will be served at this “Meet The Artist” event, which will take place on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 2:00 – 6:00PM in The Village Potters’ Feature Gallery.

The Village Potters are Sarah Wells Rolland, Judi Harwood, Melanie Robertson, Lori Theriault, and Karen Dubois. They comprise an intentional Collective of potters who share a commitment to inspire a passion for ceramic art and nurture creative exploration through education, experience, relationships, and community. The Village Potters includes three showrooms, a Teaching Center offering ongoing classes for adults, an Independent Study and Mentoring Program, and scheduled demonstration and hands-on workshops. The Village Potters is an official distributor for Laguna Clays.

The Village Potters is located in Riverview Station, in Asheville’s Historic River Arts District at 191 Lyman Street, #180.
