Jim Witter and his remarkable band return to the Western Carolina University Bardo Arts Center on Saturday, February 23 at 3:00 p.m. for the Friends of the Arts Annual Friend-Raising concert. This is a free concert for the campus and the community.
Jim Witter’s “Time in a Bottle” will take you on a journey back to the ’60s and ’70s. Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the social and cultural revolution that catapulted folk artists such as Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, James Taylor, Harry Chapin and Bob Dylan to the forefront of the musical landscape. You may not be able to save “Time in a Bottle,” but experiencing one of Jim Witter’s signature musical and lyrical voyages sure comes close!
The concert features a guitar giveaway contest; the winner will be announced at the end of the show. Attendees will have the chance to enter to win a travel-size guitar, courtesy of Jim Witter, plus a one hour guitar lesson from WCU School of Music Professor Emeritus, Steve Wohlrab. Please note that you must be at the event to participate in the contest.
This Friend-Raising concert from the WCU Friends of the Arts is the keynote of their “Friend” drive, generating support for the newly named David Orr Belcher College of Fine and Performing Arts.
