Free student tickets available for Bill Nye talk on April 1

The U.S. Cellular Center Asheville is proud to offer free student tickets to attend EXTREME WEATHER: A Conversation with Bill Nye on Monday, April 1st at 7:00 p.m. Thanks to an anonymous supporter, the U.S. Cellular Center has 250 tickets available, first come, first serve beginning on Wednesday, March 20 to this event for all students under the age of 18 years old. “Connecting how we think about extreme weather and climate change and what to do about it is a very important conversation.” said Chris Corl, General Manager at the U.S. Cellular Center. “Communicating these concepts to future generations early and often is equally pivotal. Bill Nye is the perfect speaker to help us understand the urgency of the matter.” This talk will be geared towards older audiences, and is suggested for 7th graders and above. Tickets and VIP Passes are on sale now online or at the U.S. Cellular Center Box Office.

STUDENT INFORMATION: Students, 18 years and younger, will receive a free ticket to the event with an accompanying chaperone or adult with a limit of four students per adult. Accompanying adults may purchase a ticket at a 50% discount. To pick up tickets, please come to to the U.S. Cellular Center Box Office between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday as well as during events. Tickets are limited, so stop by the box office soon to take advantage of this offer. 

Colleges and local university students may purchase tickets at a 50% discount with a valid student ID card and will be limited to 2 tickets per purchaser.

Above offers are not valid on previously purchased tickets and are only available at the U.S. Cellular Center Box Office. No refunds/No Exchanges.

Presented by the U.S. Cellular Center and The Collider in collaboration with the Asheville Museum of Science are excited to announce EXTREME WEATHER; A Conversation with Bill Nye The Science Guy. Moderated by Greta Johnsen of WBEZ Chicago and host of the NERDette podcast. Greta and Mr. Nye will focus the conversation on Extreme Weather and Climate Change. This event, will kick off Climate Week in Asheville, as the start of the Climate City Expo, at 10-day celebration of Asheville’s creativity and commitment to climate change awareness and action.
