Friends of DuPont Forest seeks board members

Press release from Friends of DuPont Forest:

Are you passionate about DuPont State Recreational Forest and looking for a way to give back? Do you want to help shape the future of the Forest? The Friends of DuPont Forest is seeking board members from our community with a service term beginning in April 2021.

While day-to-day operations are led by Friends of DuPont Forest’s Executive Director, the board supports the work of the organization through mission-based leadership, strategic governance, and hands-on work through various committees. Board members are responsible for planning, policy development, financial oversight, fundraising and working to ensure the organization is accomplishing its mission: to enhance the public use and enjoyment of the DuPont State Recreational Forest while protecting its natural resources.

The Board meets bimonthly on the first Tuesday of the month. In addition to board meetings, Board members are expected to actively participate in committees, fundraise and attend hosted events when able. Ideal Board candidates will love the outdoors (especially DuPont!), be computer literate and have experience in activities like project or volunteer management, grant writing, fundraising, marketing, legal issues, trail maintenance, recreation, finance, or community organizing.
