Asheville, NC – Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina announces the grand re-opening of their newly remodeled Outlet Store on Tuesday, March 26 at 8:00 AM located at 1616 Patton Ave. The public is invited to join in the celebration for great deals and giveaways. The Outlet stocks inventory available as a “buy the pound” treasure hunt.
The Outlet Store entrance is now centrally located in the front of the Goodwill facility and has been expanded by 15% to 10,500 square feet of sales floor space. The store makeover incorporates new design elements and layout changes that make it much easier for shoppers to browse the merchandise available for .59 cents to $1.10 per pound.
Through its retail operations, Goodwill is able to recycle 100% of consumer electronics and 99.5% of textiles that are donated. In this way, donations to Goodwill are both good for the community and the environment.
“The items for sale in the Outlet Store are comprised of unsold goods from our retail stores in the western part of our territory,” said Ted Chellis, district manager for Goodwill. “The Outlet allows us to glean value from donations that aren’t sold in our retail stores to provide additional support for our mission.”
Revenue generated from the sale of donated items funds career development and training programs that help people find jobs and reach financial stability. In the Asheville area, Goodwill offers these programs at its Asheville Workforce Development Center, also located at 1616 Patton Avenue. Located in the Center is Career Connections, a resource offering free personalized career counseling to job seekers. There are also Career Connections Centers in Hendersonville and Waynesville.
