Gov. McCrory releases statement on passing of Nelson Mandela

From the office of Gov. Pat McCrory:

Raleigh, N.C. – Governor Pat McCrory released the following statement on the passing of former South African President Nelson Mandela:

“The world has lost a champion for the cause of freedom,” said Governor McCrory. “President Mandela’s strength in leading South Africa out of apartheid was only exceeded by his personal grace and dignity. Ann and I join people around the world in extending our thoughts and prayers to the family of President Nelson Mandela and the people of his nation.”

I wonder what Mandela would have thought of McCrory and company’s successful efforts to disenfranchise African-Americans (who might be inclined to vote Democratic), as admitted by a local (former) GOPer name?
