Green Opportunities gets $25,000 grant from Wells Fargo

Asheville-based Green Opportunities has received a $25,000 grant from financial-services company Wells Fargo. “This critical funding will increase our ability to serve Asheville’s low-wealth residents who are often left out of economic opportunities. With this support, we’ll be able to bolster our training activities and facilitate meaningful pathways to employment for our participants,”says GO’s Mission Advancement Director Billy Schweig.

Green Opportunities receives $25,000 grant from Wells Fargo

ASHEVILLE, April 23, 2015 –Green Opportunities (GO) has received a $25,000 donation from Wells Fargo to support job training, case management and job placement services for economically disadvantaged local residents.

“This critical funding will increase our ability to serve Asheville’s low-wealth residents who are often left out of economic opportunities. With this support, we’ll be able to bolster our training activities and facilitate meaningful pathways to employment for our participants,” said GO’s Mission Advancement Director Billy Schweig. “We are extremely grateful for the continued support of community and funding partners like Wells Fargo in making our program the best that it can be.”

The grant will be used to increase the capacity and infrastructure of GO operations related to providing technical and life skills training and ongoing support services to low-income individuals. Funds will also support key elements, such as training supplies and intake and assessment of new participants.
