Groundbreaking on Fletcher town hall – hopes for downtown area

From the Hendersonville Times-News:

After nearly 14 years of planning, officials broke ground Thursday for a future town hall that will serve as a catalyst for the Heart of Fletcher.

The Heart of Fletcher project will create an entryway for the town and a centralized location for retail and office spaces, along with a new library and possibly housing.

“We are developing a downtown area,” said Mayor Bill Moore about the 50 acres of land allotted for the project.

The groundbreaking at the 5-acre site is a definite sign that progress is being made, he added.

“This has been a vision and a dream,” Moore told the audience on hand for the ceremony.
