Hands On! announces programs for November

Press release from Hands On! Children’s Museum:

Tues. 10/30-Fri. 11/2 All Day. Make a Paper Bag Puppet! All ages. Make a paper bag puppet and then have fun creating your own puppet show in our theater. Puppet-making supplies are available in the party room. This activity is free for members/free with $5 admission and is sponsored by Van Winkle Law Firm.

Fri. 11/2, 11/9, 11/16, 11/23, 11/30 Makerspace every Friday 2-5 pm.  Makerspace is an exhibit located in the DISCOVERY Room at Hands On!. Children and adults are invited to use their imaginations to design and build!  Makerspace will be open every Friday from 2-5pm in November with a different themed project or craft each week.  Children must be accompanied by an adult. This exhibit is free with $5 admission and free for members. Sponsored by Exxon Mobil.

*11/2 Guest Makerspace! Local artist and woodworker David Alder will be hosting a Parquetry Woodworking class.

Tues. 11/6-Fri. 11/9 All day. Celebrate Veteran’s Day! All Ages. Decorate a star to honor our veterans. Star supplies are available in the party room. This activity is free with $5 admission/free for members. All veterans or active duty military personnel will receive free admission on Saturday, November 10th in honor of Veteran’s day. Please come in uniform or bring your military ID or other proof of service.

Wed. 11/7, 11/14, 11/21, 11/28 Nature Nuts! Families, join Hands On! educators as they explore the great outdoors. All ages will enjoy these exciting and informative nature walks on the Oklawaha Greenway. Participants should meet at the Berkeley Road parking lot at 415 Berkeley Rd, Hendersonville, NC 28792. This free program is sponsored by Hendersonville Pediatrics. Nature Nuts will be held every Wednesday from 11-12pm in November. Tues. 11/13, 11/20, 11/27 11-11:30am. Mad Scientist Lab. Ages 3 yrs & up. Join us for the on selected Tuesdays in November.  Limited spaces. Sponsored by Hunter Subaru.  Please call to register. Mad Scientists Lab is free with $5 admission/free for members.

Tues. 11/13 3:30-4pm. All About Chemistry! Children ages 7-12 can join us for an exciting class about chemistry directed and presented by members of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Please call 828-697-8333 to register. All About Chemistry is free with $5 admission/free for members.

Tues. 11/13-Fri. 11/16. All day. Critter Craft – Turkeys! All ages. Drop-in self-directed activity in our Art Area. Free with $5 admission/Free for members. Sponsored by Etowah Valley Veterinary Hospital.

Wed. 11/14  4-5pm. Mad Scientists on Wheels! Join us at the Fletcher Library for Budding Artists! Inspire young artists to create art using different materials such as vegetables, shaving cream, plants, and more! Call 828.687.1218 to register.

Tues. 11/20-Fri.11/23 All day. Let’s Play Games! All ages. Prepare to celebrate National Game and Puzzle Week, which is November 22 through November 28, by playing giant games in our Party Room. Free with $5 admission/Free for members.

Thurs. 11/22 CLOSED – HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Tues. 11/27-Fri.11/30 All day. Snowflake Craft. All ages. Learn about science & nature while creating art. Free with $5 admission/free for members.

Hands On! Children’s Museum is located at 318 North Main Street in historic downtown Hendersonville, NC. Museum Hours are Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 5pm. Closed on Sunday and Monday.
