Harris Regional Hospital, a Duke LifePoint hospital, is pleased to announce the January 9 opening of Harris Cardiology, a full-service cardiology practice located on the second floor of the hospital alongside Harris Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. The practice will be open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be reached at (828) 586-7654.
Francis Nullet, MD, a board certified cardiologist, began caring for cardiology patients in the hospital this month and will start seeing patients in the outpatient setting at Harris Cardiology when the practice opens next month. Dr. Nullet has practiced cardiology for more than 30 years, most recently at Piedmont Heart Institute in Atlanta. Dr. Nullet completed a fellowship in cardiovascular diseases, and a residency in internal medicine, at West Virginia University after receiving his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York, N.Y.
Harris Regional Hospital has recently expanded cardiology services for the region with the addition of needed diagnostic, treatment, and monitoring services, as well as stress testing and echocardiography, seven days a week. The hospital also plans to establish cardiac catheterization services, in partnership with Duke LifePoint Cardiac Partners, LLP, as well as offer a pacemaker implantation and monitoring clinic as part of the cardiology expansion.
