“I hunt and fish, I don’t play tennis”: Hayden Rogers releases first TV ads

From Hayden Rogers for Congress:

Brasstown — Today Hayden Rogers released his first two television advertisements of the general election cycle. The 30-second spots, “Values” and “Don’t,” highlight Rogers’ mountain values and commitment to keeping and creating jobs in America, protecting Medicare, controlling federal spending, and bringing common sense, independent leadership to Washington, DC.

A full transcript of the ads is below:

“Values”

Hayden Rogers: Growing up here, you know mountain values. Strong faith in God, loving our family, and helping our neighbors.

We believe in common sense ideas. We don’t spend money we don’t have, and we take care of our own, especially our seniors.

But this Congress, they just don’t get it. They’re driving us even deeper into debt and gutting Medicare.

Sure, times are tough. But mountain folks have always worked together to get by. Now it’s time for Congress to pull together and do the same.

I’m Hayden Rogers, and I am proud to approve this message.

“Don’t”

Hayden Rogers: I’m Hayden Rogers, and I’m running for Congress. So there are a few things you ought to know about me.

I drive an American truck, not some fancy foreign job.

I’ll fight to create jobs here in America, not in China.

I hunt and fish, I don’t play tennis.

I support balancing the budget, but never on the backs of our seniors.

I’ll always fight for our mountain values, and I will never put party ahead of country.

I’m Hayden Rogers, and I approve this message, because it’s time we start creating jobs right here.”

As silly as I think his ads are, I hope it at least serves to remind people that there are some good ol’ country boys, like myself, who still vote Democrat for several reasons.
