Haywood Community College offers free seminar, “How to Write a Business Plan”

The Small Business Center at Haywood Community College will offer a free seminar titled, “How to Write a Business Plan,” Tuesday, March 5, 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the College’s Regional High Technology Center in room 3021.

A business plan can be the most important tool a small business owner has. Learn how to turn your ideas into a solid plan for financing and long-term success. This seminar teaches you the important components of a business plan and helps you lay the foundation for a winning plan. Find out how marketing, operations and finance are interrelated. Discover how a business plan is used by potential lenders, the do’s and don’ts of writing a plan and steps for making the process easy.

The presenter will be Russ Seagle. Seagle is the executive director of The Sequoyah Fund, Inc., a Community Development Finance Institution located in Cherokee, NC. He is also the owner of Seagle Management Consulting, a small business consulting and development firm located in Cullowhee, NC. Russ speaks frequently on small business topics, including business planning, time management, customer service and marketing.

“How to Write a Business Plan” is part of the Small Business Start-Up Series. Additional seminars in this series include:

“Basics of Bookkeeping” will be held Tuesday, March 12, 5:30-8:30 p.m.

“Your Small Business Taxes” will be held Thursday, March 14, 11a.m.-2 p.m.

“Marketing Your Business” will be held Tuesday, April 2, 5:30-8:30 p.m.

“How to Find Your Customers” will be held Tuesday, April 16, 5:30-8:30 p.m.

“Financing Your Business” will be held Thursday, April 23, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
