Haywood County Public Library increases hours

Press release from Haywood County Public Library:

Beginning Tuesday, June 1st, the Waynesville and Canton branches will expand opening hours. Library branch hours will be as follows:

  • Waynesville: Monday & Wednesday 9am-6pm; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 9am-5pm
  • Canton: Monday & Wednesday 9am-6pm; Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9am-5pm
  • Fines Creek: Wednesday 9am-5pm
  • Maggie Valley: Thursday 9am-5pm

Based on the latest CDC and Haywood County guidance and Governor Cooper’s Executive Order 215, face coverings are not required. Face coverings are suggested, but not required, for those who are not vaccinated.

Public computers and seating are available as are copying, printing, and faxing. Some in-person programs for all ages will resume in June and some will still be offered virtually. All event listings are on the library website – https://www.haywoodlibrary.org/. Receive advance notice of all library events by subscribing to Shelf Life, our monthly email newsletter. At our website, click on Services – Newsletter. Summer Reading programs for all ages begin June 1 and will run through July 30.

Curbside pickup is available during opening hours at Canton and Waynesville – call when you arrive. Place holds online from home using the Catalog link on the library’s webpage: http://haywood.nccardinal.org/eg/opac/home. Allow 24 hours for staff to pull holds and have them ready for pick up. For assistance with placing holds, call the Waynesville branch at 828-452-5169 or the Canton branch at 828-648-2924.

Book drops at all branches are open 24/7 for the timely return of materials. Check due dates one of three ways: log into your library account at https://haywood.nccardinal.org/eg/opac/home, download the cloudLibrary app, or call 828.452.5169.
