Henderson County teacher and coach to run for democratic nomination at NC Senate, District 48

Hendersonville, NC – February 6, 2014 – Rick Wood is announcing today that on Monday, February 10, 2014, he will file to become a candidate for the Democratic nomination for the North Carolina Senate, District 48. The District includes all of Henderson County and Transylvania County as well as parts of Southern Buncombe County.
Rick Wood, a 40-year veteran school teacher and award-winning high school basketball coach, currently serves on the Henderson County Board of Public Education.
“I am running to give voters a choice for positive change,” says Wood. “I look forward to meeting with more voters of the 48th District to listen to their concerns and to share my vision and priorities for a better North Carolina.”

Rick Wood will make a brief public statement after filing for office at 12 noon on February 10 at the Henderson County Board of Elections, 75 East Central Street, Hendersonville.
