News release from UNC Health Pardee:
UNC Health Pardee is pleased to be named as one of America’s 100 Best Hospitals for 2025, according to new research released by Healthgrades, the number one site Americans use when searching for a provider or hospital. Pardee’s unwavering commitment to exceptional patient care puts the organization in the top 2% of hospitals nationwide for overall clinical performance for the fourth year in a row.
In addition to this recognition for overall clinical care, Pardee is the recipient of numerous accolades related to its outstanding performance in key service areas, including stroke care and critical care. These achievements further underscore the organization’s dedication to clinical excellence, placing Pardee among the upper echelon of hospitals nationwide.
“I’m incredibly proud of the team here at UNC Health Pardee for earning this recognition as one of Healthgrades’ 100 Best Hospitals. This achievement is not just a reflection of our medical excellence, but of the care, compassion, and hard work that each of our teammates put in every day,” said Jay Kirby, president and CEO, UNC Health Pardee. “It’s a privilege to serve our community alongside such dedicated professionals, and together, we’ll continue to deliver the very best for those who trust us with their health.”
Pardee’s achievements are based exclusively on what matters most: patient outcomes. To determine the top hospitals for 2025, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted mortality and complication rates for over 30 conditions and procedures at approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide. Healthgrades’annual analysis revealed significant performance gaps between the nation’s highest- and lowest-achieving hospitals, making it increasingly important to seek care at a top-rated facility. If all hospitals, as a group, performed similarly to America’s 100 Best, 174,761 lives could have been saved.
UNC Health Pardee is a not-for-profit regional healthcare organization based in Henderson County and managed by UNC Health. The county-owned hospital was founded in 1953 in Hendersonville, NC, and is licensed for 222 acute care beds. Pardee has grown from the Henderson County Hospital to become a healthcare system that serves residents across Henderson, Haywood, Transylvania, and Buncombe counties, offering a wide range of medical services, including a comprehensive primary care physician network with FQHC status, a cancer center, four urgent care locations, four orthopedics and sports medicine clinics and a medical staff representing 43 specialties.
