(Asheville, NC). Members of the community are encouraged to attend a Home Energy Efficiency Class in Asheville this spring. Sponsored by Progress Energy, OnTrack Financial Education & Counseling (OnTrack WNC) and the WNC Green Building Council will offer a two-hour class exploring energy efficiency upgrades. The WNC Green Building Council estimates that participants can expect to achieve a 30% savings in their utilities by implementing tips from the class.

Asheville, NC – Tuesday, April 24th from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at OnTrack WNC offices at 50 S. French Broad Avenue.

Fee: Thanks to generous sponsorship by Progress Energy, this class is available at the reduced price of $10 per household. Class participants will receive a bag of energy saving tips and tools.
“WNC Green Building Council is extremely excited about the opportunity to partner with OnTrack WNC to offer these new classes to clients who really need them. Utility bills are often a high percentage of people’s monthly income and seen as a set cost that cannot be changed,” commented Matt Siegel, WNC Green Building Council Director. Siegel continued, “We are going to teach people that by simply investing a small amount of money and some of their time, they can save $25 – $100 a month. These classes will benefit all people whether they own a home or rent, have a lot of money in the bank, or live on a tight budget.”
Pre-registration is required: Contact OnTrack WNC at 828-255-5166 ext 3. If possible, please bring 12 months of utility bills to review during class.
