HT-N: Authorities investigate report of gambling at bowling alley

A tip about illegal gambling at a bowling alley led local and state law enforcement early this week to a private gambling room at Tarheel Lanes Family Recreation Center, the Hendersonville Times-News reported.

A lead came in from Crime Stoppers, said Chief Deputy Frank Stout of the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office. He estimated that by about 6:30 p.m., authorities from the sheriff’s office, Hendersonville police and N.C. Alcohol Law Enforcement were executing a search warrant at the bowling alley, located at 3275 Asheville Highway in Hendersonville.

“We did have some gambling devices removed,” Stout said. “No charges were filed, but the investigation is ongoing at this time.”
