According to the bio for bluegrass band Iron Horse, listeners will “want to strap in to their seat and prepare to be thrilled with the ride” and the group has “a new sound for bluegrass and they always perform with a spirit and sense of style that pays the most gratifying compliment to acoustic and bluegrass lovers; a warm mixture of family influence, belief in God, and an unwillingness to deny their creative urges.”
Based in Killen, Ala., Iron Horse is known for doing bluegrass covers of rock and metal songs. They’ve recorded bluegrass tributes to Metallica, Black Sabbath, Guns N Roses, The Shins and The Goo Goo Dolls, among others.
Iron Horse performs at The Asheville Music Hall on Saturday, Sept. 28. Jon Stickley Trio and Mountain Feist also perform. 10 p.m., $10 advance / $12 day of show.
