Isaac Dickson Elementary to dismiss early following water main break

Announcement from Asheville City Schools:

We will have an unexpected early dismissal today at Isaac Dickson Elementary School. Dismissal could be as early at 11:45 a.m.

Water Dispatchers with the Asheville Water Authority have notified us that a six-inch main line burst.  Isaac Dickson Elementary School is currently without water.

The Asheville Water Authority has informed us that the repairs will take between six to eight hours.

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority.  We cannot safely operate without water. Therefore, we will be dismissing Isaac Dickson Elementary School only — as early as 11:45 a.m.  Our Transportation Department is coordinating now. Parents can also pick up their students.

Second grade students who are on the field trip will return at 2:00 PM. The students will who normally ride the bus will have transportation.

We will provide families with an update as soon as possible.

Thank you for your continued support of Asheville City Schools.

Isaac Dickson Elementary School is the only school known to be impacted at this time.
