Jackson County NAACP announces January events

Press release from Jackson County NAACP:

The Jackson County NAACP Membership will meet on Saturday, January 19th, 10:00 am, at Liberty Baptist Church, Sylva N.C. The agenda is to organize members into Standing Committees and to finalize Branch actions and events for 2019. At 11:00 am, Zev Friedman, Program speaker, will present: “Creating Economic Opportunities Based on Sound Ecological Development.”

Monday, Jan. 21st begins a week of campus events commemorating Martin Luther King, Jr. For the 3rd year Jackson NAACP members will march with WCU students. Beginning at the Fountain Plaza at noon, the group will walk around the campus perimeter and end with speeches and singing by 2:00 pm.
