PRESS RELEASE (U.S. Forest Service)
The Cradle of Forestry in America will hold its annual Firefly Twilight Tour on June 16 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Naturalists from the Cradle of Forestry will conduct the firefly program. While waiting for nightfall, the group will discuss the life cycle and special features of firefly biology and behavior. Children can create a firefly craft. Participants will enjoy a short walk on the Pink Beds Trail searching for fireflies, exploring the surrounding forest and discussing forest ecology.

Park and meet at the Pink Beds Picnic Area in the Pisgah National Forest on NC Highway 276, a short distance north of the entrance to the Forest Discovery Center. Please bring a flashlight and your sense of wonder. Enjoy this magical time in the forest while learning about the natural history of these fascinating insects.

Cost for this evening program is $6 for adults, $3 for youth 15 and under, and holders of America the Beautiful and Golden Age passes. For more information, call 828-877-3130 or go to www.cradleofforestry.org.
