Joshua Messick & Friends perform at The Altamont Theatre, March 4

PRESS RELEASE:

Joshua Messick & Friends will be performing at The Altamont Theatre, located at 118 Church St, Asheville, NC 28801, on March 4, 8pm. Doors will open at 7:00pm.

Joshua Messick, a local resident, is a National Hammered Dulcimer Champion and has established himself as one of the nation’s leading hammered dulcimer artists. Creativity flows with dynamic passion as he weaves progressive, cinematic stylings & modern techniques into traditional melodies, original compositions, & powerful improvisations.

Joshua is recognized for his versatility of genres, and the concert will combine world fusion, new acoustic, folk, jazz, traditional and more. The concert will also feature percussion by fan-favorite James Kylen and master vibraphonist Paul Babelay (http://www.paulbabelay.com).

Joshua relates, “When I play, I seek to convey human emotions that connect all people: love, sorrow, joy, gratitude–all gifts found in the chambers of every human heart. I know that music, especially as it resounds from the ancient hammered dulcimer, reflects the invisible human spirit. This music is a prayer without words and a balm to communicate love, hope, and healing.”

Tickets are $20 advance, $23 day of, or $30 VIP, and may be purchased at www.thealtamont.com
