Junior League to host virtual 5k/10k fundraiser April 9-18

Announcement from the Junior League of Asheville:

The Junior League of Asheville is excited to announce Be the Change Challenge, a virtual 5k/10k fundraiser to be held between April 9th and 18th, 2021.  Members of the community are invited to skip, hop, walk, run, or race the event, which will also act as fundraiser for the JLA.  Funds raised for this event will directly support the programs of the Junior League of Asheville.  Please visit https://runsignup.com/Race/Events/NC/Anytown/JuniorLeagueofAshevilleVirtualRun to register for Be the Change Challenge.

The Junior League will be awarding $5000 in grants, at minimum increments of $500, to regional nonprofits, with a focus on organizations that serve vulnerable individuals and children in Western North Carolina.  Applicants are limited to organizations in Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Madison, and McDowell counties.  Grant applications are due by March 9, 2021.  Grant recipients and lead time winners will be announced on April 19th.  To access the application and apply for a grant, please visit https://juniorleagueofasheville.org/2021/02/be-the-change-grant/
