Keever highlights differences with McHenry over Buffet Rule

Here’s the press release from 10th District Congressional Democratic Candidate Patsy Keever. The Statehouse Rep. is challenging Republican incumbent Patrick McHenry:

Asheville, NC— The Keever Campaign has been issuing policy statements that illuminate the differences between Representative Keever and her opponent, Patrick McHenry on issues that are important to the people of the 10th Congressional District.

Today, the campaign released its 6th installment in the series:

Policy Difference #6

Patrick McHenry opposes the Buffet Rule and believes that millionaires and billionaires should be allowed pay a smaller percentage of their income in taxes than middle-class families do. Patsy Keever supports the Buffett Rule and believes that individuals who make more than $1 million a year should pay a tax rate that is no lower than the tax rate of an average middle-class family. If you believe that millionaires and billionaires should not pay their far share, then vote for Patrick McHenry. If you think they should pay their fair share, then vote for Patsy Keever.

Mr. McHenry’s campaign has responded only once to these policy differences. McHenry has also only agreed to appear at one debate/forum with Representative Keever when his campaign said publicly that they would work with the Keever campaign to arrange three joint appearances.

Rep. Patsy Keever (NC-115) is the Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in North Carolina’s 10th Congressional District. Keever taught in the public schools for more than 25 years and served on the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners for 12 years. In 2010, Keever was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives from NC District 115.
