Keever releases statement on GOP VP choice

Full announcement from Keever for Congress:

Asheville—Rep. Patsy Keever released the following statement today in response to Mitt Romney’s selection of Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan as his vice presidential running mate:

“Congressman Ryan’s extremist vision for this country includes ending Medicare as we know it, giving huge tax breaks to America’s wealthiest citizens and cutting programs like student aid. His proposed budget would mean an increase in expenses for seniors by as much as $6,400 per year and the loss of as many as 65,000 jobs here in North Carolina by the year 2017.

“Congressman Patrick McHenry voted with Paul Ryan on these drastic changes, which according to a recent Kaiser Family Foundation poll, are opposed by 75% of voters. The people of the 10th Congressional District will reject this radical agenda in November.”

Rep. Patsy Keever (NC-115) is the Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in North Carolina’s 10th Congressional District. Keever taught in the public schools for more than 25 years and served on the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners for 12 years. In 2010, Keever was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives from NC District 115.
