Positive reviews from participants and organizers alike motivated Cycle North Carolina to host its new weekend “Mountain Ride” in Lake Lure. Last year, cyclists and their guests were treated to a full-day festival complete with live music, beer and wine garden, food vendors and shuttle transportation to various attractions in Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Village, like Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park.

From the welcoming spirit of the area, to the entertaining festival, which was produced by The McConnell Group Public Relations in partnership with the Town of Lake Lure and Rutherford County Tourism Development Authority, Cycle North Carolina was impressed by what Lake Lure was able to provide as a first-time host town.

“From the moment we arrived in Lake Lure, we knew it was a perfect stop for our participants during the Mountains to Coast tour,” said Cycle NC Ride Director Ragan Williams. “The hospitality, entertainment, multitude of lodging options, exquisite camping area, friendliness of the locals, wonderful attractions and the scenic beauty put Lake Lure at the top of our list when considering adding an additional event. Our cyclists loved the experience and can’t wait to return for an extended stay.”

The Town of Lake Lure is excited for another opportunity to host Cycle North Carolina and its riders.

“We’re thrilled that Cycle NC will be returning to Lake Lure as a base camp for their new Mountain Ride,” said Town Manager Chris Braund. “Cycle NC participants have a wonderful, positive spirit and an enjoyment of the outdoors that is infectious. We welcome them back to stay a little longer in our area to explore the surrounding mountains, farm valleys and hospitality of the Hickory Nut Gorge.”
