LGBT Health Fair to be held on Nov. 17 at UUC in AVL

From the Council on Aging:

Council on Aging of Buncombe County, Western Carolina Medical Society host LGBT Health Fair

The Council on Aging of Buncombe County will join with Western Carolina Medical Society at First Congregational UUC on 20 Oak Street, Asheville for 2015 WNC LGBT Health Fair on Tuesday, November 17th from 3 pm to 7 pm.

The WNC LGBT Health Fair will be a free event to promote the physical and mental health of our large LGBT community in Western North Carolina by providing them access to knowledge and services with particular regard to access to care under the Affordable Care Act.

In conjunction with the open enrollment period of the Health Insurance Marketplace (HIM), the WNC LGBT Health Fair will have HIM navigators on hand to provide information specific to the LGBT community for enrollment, space for local and regional organizations and groups committed to LGBT health and wellness to exhibit and demonstrate their services.

Participation would allow attendees to increase their awareness of the many health care resources, services, and providers available to the LGBT community in our area all under one roof and at one time.
