The purpose of this luncheon is to raise awareness, build community, share ideas and learn more about the needs of our LGBT older adult population so that we may assist in connecting LGBT elders to existing resources.

The LGBT Elder Advocates is grassroots organization founded in 2011 to address the aging issues and concerns of the LGBT community. Through sensitivity trainings and information sharing with local health and caregiver partners our goal is to advocate change through education and awareness of local resources. We seek and encourage partnerships with other organizations to help and support the work of caring for elderly LGBT persons.

There will be a short program with introductions and information about our organization and partners. Join other LGBT Elders, friends and allies for a light lunch and an opportunity to meet and greet others. Do a Facebook search for: WNC LGBT Elder Advocates and check back regularly for news and updates.
