Local artist selected for regional competition

Anita Funston selected to show sculpture at ArtFields.

Henderson County, NC – March 28, 2016 – Local artist, Anita Funston, will be in the prestigious ArtFields in April.

Anita Funston lives in Henderson County. She is a sculptor that works with clay and metal. CHIEF, a wood fired ceramic figurative sculpture, has been selected to be included in the third annual ArtFields, a festival and art competition in Lake City, SC. This 9-day festival features over 400 artworks, from artists across the Southeast, displayed in locally owned venues in historic Lake City. From April 22 – 30, Main Street and beyond is transformed to a living art gallery. CHIEF will be on display in the Lake City Library Community Center.

Regarding ArtFields, Anita stated, β€œIt is an honor to be a part of this unique and prestigious event that involves the citizens, engages over 20,000 visitors and has evolved the Lake City community.”

In addition to ArtFields, in 2015, CHIEF was awarded the Gold Metal in Sculpture at the NC Silver Games in Raleigh, NC.
