Local farm gives back to veterans

Press release from 360PR+:

The transition from military life back into everyday society is a challenge all veterans face. Founded by an Air Force veteran, Veteran’s Healing Farm in Hendersonville, N.C. was created to provide a host of therapeutic benefits, from sunlight to physical exercise and organically grown produce, to help face this challenge.

Thanks to the continuous support of Seeds of Change, the largest exclusively organic seed brand in the country, an estimated 20,000 seed packets have been donated giving veterans access to premium, organic and non-GMO produce. And when it comes to increasing the happiness chemicals in our bodies – serotonin and dopamine – organic soil and crops matter. Research has shown that getting your bare hands dirty in an organic garden is more likely to increase your serotonin levels and when you see, smell and/or harvest produce you are more likely to experience a flush of dopamine.
