Austin Walker awarded SIOR designation

Press release:

Austin Walker of Whitney Commercial Real Estate Services has been awarded the SIOR designation by the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS® (SIOR).

Walker’s recognition is good news for Asheville. Real estate professionals who have earned the SIOR designation are recognized world-wide by corporate real estate executives, commercial real estate brokers, agents, lenders, and other real estate professionals as the most capable and experienced brokerage practitioners in any market.

Walker is now 1 of only 3 practicing commercial real estate professionals in Asheville to hold the SIOR designation, and 1 of 3,000 practicing members in 630 cities and 34 countries around the world. Richard Whitney, also with Whitney Commercial Real Estate Services, is another of Asheville’s 3 SIOR designees.

Qualifications required to earn the SIOR designation include: at least five years of high-level production in the specialized fields of either office or industrial real estate; completion of stringent educational requirements; and demonstration of professionalism, ability, competency, ethical conduct, and personal integrity.

Walker also holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation awarded by the CCIM Institute, an affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS®.
