Locals question firing decision made by Henderson County Sheriff’s Office

From the Times-News:

Downtown merchant Eva Ritchey is holding a public meeting this week to discuss new Sheriff Charlie McDonald’s decision not to keep a longtime employee.

Ritchey is holding the meeting Tuesday at 117 South Main St. because she believes Sgt. Ben McKay was wrongfully dismissed from the department when McDonald took office earlier this month. McKay served with the Sheriff’s Office for 23 years.
