‘Magical musical kirtan concert’ at Black Mountain Yoga, June 17

Girish, an accomplished musician of many genres, former monk infused in spiritual practice, loving wordsmith linking lyrics and rhythm in a blissful musical event, will be performing live at Black Mountain Yoga, Saturday June 17, 5:30-6:30 pm for LIVE Music and Yoga w/Martia Rachman and 8-9:30pm for a Magical Musical Kirtan Concert; and Sunday, June 18, 12-2pm for a Chanting Workshop.

Join Girish and his eclectic band on Saturday for an ecstatic event that features songs, hymns, and chants from Girish’s new album “Sky of the Heart” along with some old favorites.

Girish sings traditional ancient Sanskrit mantras with a modern, funky, yet deeply devotional twist. Accompanied by his amazing band, Girish invites his audience at his concert to participate by singing along, call and response chanting, and dancing.

Girish “Diamonds in the Sun” was recommended and featured in O, The Oprah magazine, and has been instrumental in the growing popularity of chant and kirtan music in the United States.
