Mahindra locates North American sales headquarters to Henderson County

Press release from Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development:

Hendersonville, NC — Mahindra Vehicle Sales and Service, Inc. (MVSS) announced their North American office headquarters today in Henderson County, North Carolina.  Mahindra has an established reputation for their farm equipment brand in the US, and is gaining attention for their internationally-recognized presence in the automotive sector.  The MVSS location will support planned growth as the company integrates new product into the US market.  The company will employ 22 people at the headquarters, primarily salespersons and office support functions, with average wages exceeding $100,000/year.

Mahindra was established in India in 1945 during World War II when they began production of the Willys Jeep. Mahindra made their US entry in 1994, locating a tractor manufacturing operation in Texas.  The Mahindra North American Technical Center was established in Troy, MI in 2013, as the company announced their intent to expand their global vehicle development in the US.

The MVSS location in Henderson County is in response to this growth trend and desire to sell on and off-road vehicles in the US.  “A location in the southeastern automotive market, and the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains, is ideal for our company to accelerate our growth in the automotive sector.  With great transportation assets like I-26 and the Asheville Regional Airport (AVL), we plan to cover a lot of ground from Henderson County,” shared Luc de Gaspe Beaubien, MVSS Vice President of Sales.

“Henderson County has a track record of success in supporting businesses in the automotive sector.  We are excited to see growth in the professional business services sector, and we are happy to welcome Mahindra to North Carolina,” shared Michael Edney, Chairman of the Henderson County Board of Commissioners.
