Mark Meadows touts new endorsements from NC lawmakers

Here’s the press release from the Mark Meadows campaign:

US NC 11 GOP candidate Mark Meadows picked up a string of big endorsements today: North Carolina State Senators Tom Apodaca, Ralph Hise, Dan Soucek and State Representative Roger West all came out in support of Meadows. Meadows is in a run off on July 17 for the Republican nomination for North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District. The winner will face Democrat Hayden Rogers in November.

Sen. Tom Apodaca said he is supporting Meadows because of his conservative, pro small business stands. Apodaca represents the state’s forty-eighth Senate district, which includes Buncombe, Henderson and Polk counties. He said Meadows message of lower taxes and less government is just what the country needs right now.

“I have known Mark for years, and I have also encouraged him to run for office since getting to know him,” said Apodaca. “Mark has the morals and the values our country needs. He will make an outstanding United States Congressman.”

Sen. Ralph Hise represents the forty-seventh Senate district including Avery, Haywood, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, and Yancey counties. He urged voters to back Meadows in the July 17th run-off.

“Having worked with Mark Meadows during this whole campaign I have been impressed by his family values, his commitment to traditional marriage, and his desire to protect the unborn.”

Sen. Dan Soucek represents the State’s 45th district which includes Alexander, Ashe, Watauga, and Wilkes counties. He also praised Meadows for his conservative stands.

“I found Mark Meadows to be a man of great ability and integrity with the conservative values that will represent the 11th district well,” stated Soucek.

Rep. Roger West represents the state’s one hundred twentieth House district which includes Cherokee, Clay, Graham and Macon counties. West said he is impressed by Meadows 20/20 jobs plan.

“Mark’s views best represent the values I have. He understands that the best way to get our country back on its feet is through less government. I also appreciate his strong opposition to Obamacare,”

Meadows said he is grateful for the endorsements

“I am humbled because these lawmakers represent a big part of the 11th District. They are also well respected, both in the North Carolina Legislature and by their constituents,” said Meadows. “These are true leaders in North Carolina and I am thankful to have these endorsements.”

These leaders join many of their other colleagues including State Representatives Mitch Gillespie, Phillip Frye, and Edgar Starnes as well as former State Senator Jimmy Jacumin.

Meadows has also picked up major endorsements from U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry (NC 10), 2010 GOP nominee Jeff Miller, the Family Research Council’s Action PAC and Dr. Michael Farris, the founder of the Home School Legal Defense Association.

Meadows is a fiscal and social conservative who has served on numerous boards, including the State Board for Economic Development in Western North Carolina. He is a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights, a Christian Conservative and a champion of “Life, Liberty, and Less Government.”
