Melibee Global announces first Asheville ‘Conference’

Here’s the press release from Melibee Global:

Melibee Global, an innovative professional and personal development organization, has announced a unique new ‘conference’ named “The Melibee Swarm,” which will focus on Culture, Identity and Perspective. This intimate event will take place in downtown Asheville on October 13th and 14th, 2014.

Ideal for anyone who interacts across cultures and sub-cultures (including faith communities, human resource teams, educators, students, not for profits, health care providers, students, travelers, administrators, artists, businesses, government, etc.) this experiential gathering will include a variety of dynamic speakers: New York City filmmaker Bassam Tariq (also well known for his work on the 30 mosques project), Tara Nygaard (digital storytelling) from Connecticut, Todd Drake and Carrie Wagner (professional photographers/educators/artists) from North Carolina, and award winning spoken word artist Will McInerney from Sacrificial Poets in Chapel Hill.  They will lead workshops and presentations that are intended to provide a new jumping off point for dialogue about culture, identity and perspective.

Melibee Global founder, Missy Gluckmann, will facilitate this experiential day and a half gathering, leading reflection and vision planning exercises. She said that “Asheville is an ideal location for the Melibee Swarm because is a community that has its own unique culture and subcultures, yet has a shifting identity. Culture is everywhere – how we choose to understand and explore it is integral to how we communicate and engage, not only locally, but globally.”

Registration for the Swarm will take place through early October, however “early bee” rates are available for not for profits and students through August 15th. Area residents and employees are encouraged to use coupon code “AshevilleCulture” for a significant discount off the regular registration rate.  Group rates (2 or more people) are also available by contacting Missy Gluckmann at info@melibeeglobal.com.
