Mission Hospital along with sister hospitals in the region collected 22.44 pounds of opioid medications during its “Crush the Crisis” opioid take back day on Sept. 7 to help combat the nation’s opioid crisis. Community members participated in the event by dropping off unused and expired prescription medications.
Here are the amounts collected at each location:
Mission Hospital – 5.2 lbs; Angel Medical Center – 2.99 lbs; Highlands-Cashiers Hospital – 3.0 lbs; Mission Hospital McDowell – 5.0 lbs; Transylvania Regional Hospital – 6.25 lbsApproximately 65 HCA Healthcare facilities participated in a “Crush the Crisis” opioid take back day in their communities on Sept. 7.
