Mission Health collects more than 22 pounds of opioids during take back day

Mission Hospital along with sister hospitals in the region collected 22.44 pounds of opioid medications during its “Crush the Crisis” opioid take back day on Sept. 7 to help combat the nation’s opioid crisis. Community members participated in the event by dropping off unused and expired prescription medications.

Here are the amounts collected at each location:
Mission Hospital – 5.2 lbs; Angel Medical Center – 2.99 lbs; Highlands-Cashiers Hospital – 3.0 lbs; Mission Hospital McDowell – 5.0 lbs; Transylvania Regional Hospital – 6.25 lbs

Approximately 65 HCA Healthcare facilities participated in a “Crush the Crisis” opioid take back day in their communities on Sept. 7.
