Mission My Care Plus welcomes Dr. Timothy Poulton to practice

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (Aug. 19, 2013) – Mission My Care Plus in Leicester welcomes Timothy Poulton, MD, as its newest physician specializing in family medicine.

“We are honored to have Dr. Poulton join the Mission My Care Plus team, where he can build on the relationships he established with families during his residency in the western North Carolina region,” said Kristi Sink, MHA, Vice President of Ambulatory and Ancillary Services for Mission Health. “Dr. Poulton’s passion for high-quality, patient-centered family medicine will ensure all patients receive the best possible care.”

Dr. Poulton recently completed his residency at the Mountain Area Health Education Center (MAHEC) Family Medicine Residency in Asheville as the Resident Physician. He received his doctorate in medicine from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, MI. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI, and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA.

“Mission My Care Plus serves a growing need in rural areas for patient-centered, comprehensive care under one roof,” said Dr. Poulton. “I’m proud to be part of Mission Health’s innovative Mission My Care Plus practice and look forward to working alongside talented physicians to serve patients and their families in the Leicester community.”

Dr. Poulton is an Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Certified Provider. He is also certified in Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Dr. Poulton is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys spending time with his wife and their son, and is actively working to improve his Spanish language abilities.

Mission My Care Plus–Leicester, located at 711 New Leicester Highway, provides primary care services, including health screenings, preventive medicine, urgent care and disease management. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Beginning September 16, the clinic will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. To make an appointment, please call 828-253-3717.
